This majestic castle stands as an icon of Osaka, surrounded by moats, gates, turrets, stone walls, and impressive waterways. The Nishinomaru Garden, a grassy area adorned with 600 cherry blossom trees that bloom beautifully in spring, attracts many visitors to this site.

History of Osaka Castle
Hideyoshi Toyotomi, known as the "Napoleon of Japan," began the construction of Osaka Castle in 1583. Since then, Osaka Castle has witnessed numerous conflicts, experiencing destruction and reconstruction multiple times. The current castle was rebuilt in 1931. Inside the castle, there is a museum with information about the history of Osaka Castle.
Green oasis in the city
Osaka Castle is surrounded by an expansive park covering 106 hectares, making it a pleasant retreat from the urban hustle and bustle of the city.
Immerse yourself in the crowd of joggers around the outer moat or take a boat tour on a gozabune for a different perspective of the castle. With countless cherry, plum, and peach trees, the lush vegetation here promises picturesque scenery in both spring and autumn.
Walking around the park
Osaka Castle sits atop a hill, towering above many modern office buildings. The castle is surrounded by an enormous park with relaxation and camping areas, making it a popular destination during the cherry blossom season for hanami (cherry blossom viewing). To get a panoramic view of the cityscape, climb the stairs or take the elevator to the observation deck at the top of the castle.
The castle also houses a museum with over 10,000 historical artifacts, promising a deeper insight into Osaka's prominent role in Japanese history.
