Activities all year round
Visiting Kannabe, you don't need to worry about choosing the perfect time to go. At every season of the year, Kannabe highland presents its own unique beauty. Besides the natural attractions, we're sure that you'll come to cherish the people of Kannabe as well.
Winter
With gentle and lengthy mountain slopes, Kannabe is particularly suitable for beginning and intermediate skiers. Not only adults but also many children enjoy their good winter time here with beautiful snowy view. Besides, you can try organic, healthy Japanese cuisine for cold season, with sake. All will be directly prepared in our Manba Kogen Lodge.
Spring
New life is breathed into the mountains and can be seen with the plum blossoms and daffodils, followed by the vibrant cherry blossoms. The timing of the peak cherry blossom varies annually but, you can expect to see them from early to mid-to-late April. During mid or early June, take an evening walk to spot fireflies. The pristine waters and environment give you the best chance to observe these creatures.
Summer
This will be the great time for many outdoor activities for any age group in such as camping, hiking, star watching. Hiking on the formed trail will guide you through lush green forests, tracing a serene river path, and leading you to a beneath waterfalls. One of the best summer activities here is canoeing at Takeno Beach - which is known for the most beautiful beach in Kansai area.
Autumn
During this season, as the trees start to change color, vibrant oranges, reds, golden leaves begin to adorn the mountains. The prime time for viewing this spectacle typically spans from mid-November. The cooler weather in this season makes hiking experience even better. Notable spots to explore include the ginkgo trees near Yutorogi hot spring and the diverse fall foliage along the hiking trails.
Explore the area of Tajima
Tajima, located in the northern region of Hyogo Prefecture, is an area abundant in natural beauty, encompassing mountains, rivers, waterfalls, beaches, volcanic rocks and caves, up to the stunning Sea of Japan. Tajima also boasts traditional towns and cozy hot springs, a popular spot among Japanese tourists and foreigners alike.

Kannabe is located in Northern Hyogo, a 2 to 3-hour drive from Osaka or Kyoto. A trip to Kannabe is also a good chance to visit Kansai destinations such as Kobe, Himeji, Osaka, Kyoto, or Nara.
